Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 13, 2026. Used Car Buyer Assistant provides tools for researching used cars while giving visitors control over optional analytics.
Information we collect
We do not operate user accounts. Your saved-car list, checklist answers and attached photos are stored locally in your browser. We do not intentionally send this saved data or information typed into buying tools to Google Analytics. When you choose to allow optional analytics, Google Analytics 4 receives usage information such as page visits, device/browser information and approximate location derived from network information, and may use cookies or similar identifiers. We do not use the analytics feature to store VIN entries or inspection-request form contents. With your permission, we also measure clicks to call, text, or visit the inspection booking form and when a validated inspection request opens an email draft; these are contact intentions, not completed bookings or confirmed messages. These events do not include your personal details or vehicle information. We use this information to improve our tools and understand which pages are useful.
Optional analytics
Google Analytics is not loaded until you select Allow analytics. You can choose No thanks instead. We use Google Analytics 4 property measurement ID G-XQE4FX3K0Z. Learn more about Google's privacy practices at Google Privacy Policy.
Third-party services
When you decode a VIN or check recalls, your VIN or vehicle details are sent directly from your browser to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) public APIs (vpic.nhtsa.dot.gov and api.nhtsa.gov) to retrieve the information you requested. Their handling of that request is governed by their own policies.
Contacting us
If you use the inspection request form, your email app opens with a pre-filled message addressed to us. Anything you include in that email is sent by you, through your own email provider, when you choose to send it.
Your choices
You can review your optional analytics preference by clicking the button below, and change it at any time. Declining future analytics stops new Google Analytics events from this browser, but does not erase information already collected by Google. You may clear locally saved vehicle information, photos, and this preference by clearing site data for this website in your browser. Analytics data already collected is governed by Google's retention and privacy rules.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new revision date.
